Audit services are a specialty and a passion. An internal audit will identify areas of non-compliance and questionable HR practices. The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) highly recommends that organizations have a third-party review of current HR practices, even when companies have full-time HR professionals. The intent is to have another set of eyes to identify wasteful/inefficient practices and non-compliance risks. Organizations use firms to audit finances, but fail to do the same with human resources where the unchecked costs and risks could be even more staggering.
